CIFC annual leadership conferences for Canadian greek men and women were founded in 1999 at the University of Alberta by Marcie Brulotte (Alpha Gamma Delta) and the Order of Omega Chapter at U of A. The Canadian Interfraternal Association started as a grass roots organization in 2001. The first CIFA President was Shala Schweitzer (Alpha Omicron Pi) and Vice President was Chris Pehlke (Sigma Chi). CIFC is hosted annually in November: in odd numbered years, CIFC is hosted by campuses east of Saskatchewan and in even numbered years, it is hosted in Western Canada. The 8th annual CIFC will therefore be hosted in Western Canada.
